The Vest...and more!

Many moons ago, I mentioned doing some sewing for my son. I made him a vest and tie for Prom. I believe it turned out AOK.

Hardest part was finding out my button hole feature did not work on my sewing machine...a machine I have had since I was 17 years old...eeeekkk! So, I made button holes by hand. Maybe you all know how to make button holes by hand? Not me. Had to look it up on the Internet and then do it! The last hole I sewed was by far the best. The first....room for improvement.

Dropping a car off at the school before my son headed to his Prom meeting spot.

Hubby and son, shooting the breeze with snacks and drinks at the designated meeting house for all the Prom goers in this particular group. Lots and lots of pictures were being taking, of course.

Got to love that look on my son's face. He and the boys seem very comfortable hovering around the food table while the girls were having their pictures taken.

After many years of taking pictures of our 3 older girls going to dances and Prom, it was nice to switch things up and hook into the boys side of picture taking.

Got to love this pose.

And, the smiles.

Only boys would think to get into a tree for a picture!

One of our favorite friends, Samantha

Heading down to the lake and garden area for more fun pictures.

This truly was a happy group of kids----actually, these kids have been friends for many, many, many school years and just enjoy being together.

A great group.

Looking back up to the house from the lake. This was back at the beginning of May, so, the beautiful gardens are just getting the hang of having to grow again. The lady of this house, had placed little name makers next to each and every flower, bush, or growing thing. It was so lovely.

And, here is the shed with the garage behind it. So cute and so fun.

More man poses!

And, more laughing.

The blue bottle tree.

Last picture because it was time to head out for dinner and dancing.

Great memories...loads of fun...see more of these kids next school year.

Sure brought back fond memories of my own Prom days. How about you? Were you a Prom goer?

Happy Easter Sunday!

A little reminder that spring and Easter have arrived. Precious new life.

Time for church and new, fresh, spring dresses.

After church, we will enjoy family and friends...visiting, celebrating and eating traditional and not so traditional Easter delights.

And maybe, just maybe, if our "April Showers, Bring May Flowers" holds off a little today...we will walk in the garden and continue to be amazed at the beauty of the earth.

And when Easter Sunday fades away, and everything is still and quiet, before jelly-beans begin to dance in our heads, we will smile as our eyelids gently close, thankful for our lives and the knowledge that Jesus Christ has risen.....

May all of you enjoy this Easter Sunday and the splendor of it all! xo

How to Dress the Working Man..

I'm hoping you can tell me.

Aaron is moving up the ranks at work this summer which means we can finally buy that boat we've wanted and a second house on the California coast. Just kidding. What is really means is the meager increase he'll get is going to go towards his new "important work man" wardrobe.

He is not the best dresser. And I'm ashamed to admit that I've let it go on too long. From baggy jeans (he's SKINNY) to socks with sporty loafers I've committed major fashion homicide and it's time for justice!

So what should every man have in their wardrobe?

He wears a suit to work everyday with colored shirts (no one wears white). Throw in a few business dinners or weekend events and our weekend dinners at Joe's Crab Shack or Chili's (I know, high class) and the casual day wear of course and that's everything I'm looking for.

French cuffs? Khakis, what do they pair well with? What pieces do you invest money in and which ones can you cheat with? What does your boyfriend, husband, father, secret lover from afar wear that you admire? What are must haves?

Busy busy bees

It has been so busy around here ..I'm the ward Camp Director as well as the beehive advisor so there have been a lot of meetings, flag makings, flyer and parent letters, fund raising meetings etc..the have really taken over our schedule. I've also just interviewed to be a private music teacher so cross your fingers that I hear good news back!

With all the busyness, we still manage to get to the park!! And look stylish about it too..

A recap, Madelyn helping me to put her dress together she wore for the wedding we recently attended..

And finally, La Piece de Resistance...

Looks like boys...but GIRLS RULE!

Girls, Girls, Girls!

Remember this little baby gift for new baby, Gwen?

Forgot to show and tell the little gift I put together for Gwen's big sister, Elle...who is still adjusting to the new arrival. Easter bucket for $1.00, baby "soft-body" doll for $4.00, and a little doll blanket made from the left over blanket fabric I made for Gwen.
So easy to do and really tickled a little girls fancy!
I hung out with these cute little boys, while their mom and dad went to the hospital to have baby, Clara. Here they are showing me their baby sisters crib...boy walls, but, darling pink bedding and pick checkered ruffle. This sweet little family will be moving soon, so, no need to redo the baby room.

The boys gave me a tour of their room.... bunk beds. Have to love being the oldest and sleeping on the top bunk.

We kept busy while we waited for Clara to be born. Aaron, the 3 year old, took a couple of pictures with my camera...ha! Big basement for playing....a little soccer going on here.

Another Aaron picture...boys rolling like logs across the basement floor. Had to keep them busy. Little boys are so different than little girls.

Aaron, listening to stories, rubbing his sleepy eyes...and oh...their are my husbands legs---or work pants-ha! He stopped by to say hi to the boys and help get them ready for bed.

Big brother, Caleb, reading bed time scripture stories.

Andrew brushing his teeth. These boys know how to brush their teeth and floss. Way to go!

Waiting and waiting for Clara to be born.

It only took Mary 5 hours from start to finish to have baby Clara. WOW! She is here safe and sound. Looking forward to meeting Clara and spending some time visiting Mary.

Love little baby girls!

P.S. While boys were sleeping and Matt was still at the hospital with Mary, I watched a PBS show about life in outer-Mongolia. I decided I will not be going their any time soon. Ha! It was so interesting. The wind, the sand, the heat, the huts, the horses being milked...that's right! Horses were being milked for humans to drink and use for food. Then again, you've got to love all the cultural differences--- and who knows...maybe horse milk is liquid gold. It definitely sustains their lives and tastes like....hmmmmm.....don't know and won't know! xo

Welcome March...and other special things!

My calendar picture for the month of March. Lovely!

Remember these little beauties? Perfect for those special little "cutie-pies" in our lives. Please enjoy a look-see here-- http://twoinfertileturtles.blogspot.com/ Amanda and Austin have a story to tell that I think you will be interested in, too.

You will also find these.....

..and these (thanks a million Genevieve). I do love hand crafted jewelery. Think spring! Fresh! So fun to wear!

Went to this special event the other night for National Honor Society.

The tall fellow, in the light grey shirt to the right of the photo (our son).... shaking hands with our Principal and one of our favorite all time teachers/tennis coach, Mr Pedlow.

And, heading over to my friend Lacy's today. She just had a little baby girl, Gwendolyn Eloise. Big sister, Elle, will be getting a little baby doll with a blanket that matches Gwen's. Elle is 2! She is ready to send Gwen back to wherever she came from-ha! I think I will make Elle's Dad some cookies. He is going to need his strength..ha!

Happy day to you all. xo
