There was a storm.....and our favorite shade tree out our back door took a dive! Really!
Shucks! It took down a few pine trees and bush's along the side of our garage, as well. Thankfully, it did not hit the garage. That's a lot of wood for chopping!
The falling of our tree threw a chunk of my hostas and large rocks right out of the flower bed border.

And, we enjoyed Friday football. GO BULLDOGS!
It was Homecoming weekend. Blurry picture, but, that is my son, second couple from the right. He escorted our bands baton twirler, who was nominated for Homecoming Queen.

And, their was Saturday tennis...a nice tournament played down south.
And, this is what you look like at 3:00 in the afternoon, after successfully cleaning up the court----yep, every last opponent! Can you tell it was a chilly day? It was. I wore my winter coat for the first time. Ha!
Oh to be young and have all that energy! Good times...great memories!
I am so sad for that tree. We will have to have a moment of silence to remember all the wonderful times we have spent gather under the relieving shade of that beautiful tree!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to our favorite tennis star! I love his reaction to winning the gold.
It is a sad day when a tree like that goes down...we had a giant Ponderosa tree that blew over in a 70 MPH wind..so sad!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm sorry about your tree! I remember it was a beautiful one. It looked like your weekend was packed too! I hope the week hasn't been as eventful. :)
ReplyDeleteAh...your back yard won't look the same, but I am sure you will make it look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Spencer celebrating "Nadal style" with his gold. Very good picture.
What fun to have such good tennis players in your family.
