New Tastes

I've been in a weird mood lately. There are times in my life when it feels like a small earthquake is going on inside, when my personality cracks and the templates of who I am shift and former mountains become valleys and vis versa. I always enjoy when this happens because for a few days or weeks the monotony of life's every day repetitiveness gets a make over and fresh air blows through the regularity. At the same time, like when an earthquake disfigures familiar landmarks, I have to get to know these new land masses and make them a part of me and align and expand the beliefs and traditions and habits that have been governing my every thought and action since consciousness.

This long deep glimpse into my soul (haha) is simply an introduction to a new line I've recently discovered in London where they have the most fabulous and INTERESTING shoes....

I probably never would have looked at them twice had this shift in nature not occurred bringing on these new tastes. These names alone are awesome. I can see myself ordering a pair and when it arrives in the mail exclaiming, "My bacon and eggs are here!"Or if I've lost them, "Has anyone seen Duke the 2nd?"

Along with new, weird tastes in fashion this out-of-no-where life altering has brought a gratifying awareness to a new singer, Adele. Have you heard of her!? Sooooo good! Here is one of my favorites, although beware, it's so beautiful it always makes me all teary:

As we've hit and passed our 100th post, we've decided it was high time for our FIRST GIVEAWAY!! (closed, needless to say)



The lucky winner will receive 2 flowers in their choice of coloring. I clip these in my hair with a messy bun, sew them to headbands, to bags, attach them to beaded bracelets around my wrist, pin them onto my shirt or scarf ..the uses are endless!



Here are the colors:

Golden brown, rust print, brown

Red, white with polka dots, red flower print

Black, black zebra, white with white polka dots

Light blue and green paisley print (would go pretty with a blue bracelet!)

Any colors, any mix n' match!
(I apologize if any pictures are blurry..I spilled a bottle in my purse and it got all over the camera!)

You can choose up to 5 fabric colors but I usually stick with 2-3/flower. You have the option of choosing 2 flower pins, or 2 flower headbands (sewed to a small black head band, like a giant hair tie type hair band). Or one of each!

I Love Blue Shoes

For today's post I'm extremely pleased to introduce our guest writer, my sister, Alyson!!

Some people find their thrills in driving fast cars, getting the winning hand in a game, or discovering a new recipe they can’t wait to try out. For me, I get that shock of electric excitement when I find a pair of fabulous shoes. Sneakers, sandals, boots, and flats are all wonderful to me, but my true passion lies in high heels. My latest addition has been, in my opinion, one of the best: a pair of blue, ruffled, gorgeously tall heels.

I was out shopping at Kohl’s, browsing down the shoe aisle when I first saw them sitting on the shelf. Instinct kicked in, and I grabbed quickly for the shoe box, as if I was in the world cup and had four large opponents also heading for what I already considered MY shoes. Smirking gleefully, I sat down and kicked off my own shoes to try on these beautiful masterpieces. I’m sure if others had seen me at that moment, the emotion passing over my face could only be described as “love at first sight.”

I took my first step in them, and instantly knew that there was no way I was going home without them. I made my way over to my mother, also shopping, to show off my incredible find (did I mention these shoes were originally $60, and I found them on sale for $15??). I struck a pose, or as much of a pose as one can strike when trying to display only one’s feet, and then pranced proudly around the aisle a little longer. Finally, I carefully returned the heels to their box, which was glued to my hands until we were out of the store.
