Welcome March...and other special things!

My calendar picture for the month of March. Lovely!

Remember these little beauties? Perfect for those special little "cutie-pies" in our lives. Please enjoy a look-see here-- http://twoinfertileturtles.blogspot.com/ Amanda and Austin have a story to tell that I think you will be interested in, too.

You will also find these.....

..and these (thanks a million Genevieve). I do love hand crafted jewelery. Think spring! Fresh! So fun to wear!

Went to this special event the other night for National Honor Society.

The tall fellow, in the light grey shirt to the right of the photo (our son).... shaking hands with our Principal and one of our favorite all time teachers/tennis coach, Mr Pedlow.

And, heading over to my friend Lacy's today. She just had a little baby girl, Gwendolyn Eloise. Big sister, Elle, will be getting a little baby doll with a blanket that matches Gwen's. Elle is 2! She is ready to send Gwen back to wherever she came from-ha! I think I will make Elle's Dad some cookies. He is going to need his strength..ha!

Happy day to you all. xo

Loving a Saturday Morning Baby Shower!!!

Have you ever, ever, ever seen anything so delightful and delicious for a wee little babe?
Little crocheted baby sandals with a little sweet button on the strap. Can you see the button? My dear friend Genevieve made these. I will have to tell you more about Genevieve and her sister, Amanda a little bit later. Stay tuned. Every baby girl needs a sweet little hat.

And, a blanket to keep her nice and cozy and loved.

Such sweet fabric.

New baby delights. Ready for the party.

I reuse gift bags...doesn't everyone?Maybe not? Anyway, easy to make your own little gift tag with pretty paper, a hole punch and yarn. Off to the baby shower.

Lovely and simple tables. Felt like spring. I do love lavender and African Violets.

Snagged this picture before the festivities began. This fruit salad was so colorful and my favorite food at the shower brunch. Yum! Their was also breakfast casserole and a marvelous triple layer white cake, with layers of lemon curd....all homemade. Hello!!!!! I love lemon curd.

More growing things, so bright and green--these helped dress-up the brunch table.

Ooh! The gathering of gifts!

We played this really fun "matching" memory game. The really fun part was the small gift of sweets that went with each match. For example, if you happened to match the pictures of the baby girls, you received a 'Baby Ruth' bar. If you matched the chubby-babies, you received a 'Chunky Bar'. I matched umbilical cord and received a package of 'Rope Licorice'. All so fun and funny.

Here's pretty, Mary. Due in two weeks, and, I am "on-call" to tend her 3 boys, if baby decides to arrive before Mary's mom arrives. This dress was so sweet....a little spring dress to wear after Mary and her family move to Atlanta this summer.
We will miss them so much!

And, her name will be......CLARA! My friend Kathy has a machine that did this beautiful embroidery work. I just love this blanket, don't you?
And Kathy's daughter made this gorgeous sweater. Kristi said she worked on it each evening when her children were in bed....for a week. Only a week! I was amazed.

We are so excited to meet and welcome Clara, and soon. It was a wonderful baby shower and a great way to start off the weekend. Hope your weekend was a good one. Do tell what adventures you had this weekend!
P.S. I will post more about the baby sandals next time round. They are so irresistible...plus, I have other goodies to show and tell. xo

Fog and stuff!

Cannot remember the last time we experienced 5 straight days of FOG! Well, actually, the fog rolls in at night and greets us in the a.m. It burns off and we have been basking in 10-15 degree warmer weather than usual. As I told a friend who just received their first snowstorm...we are in t-shirt and jean weather by early afternoon. Glorious!
Been doing a little of this and that!
And, eating a little of this...pumpkin bread. Yummy!

And, getting ready to make something out of this....
Stay tuned for the results of this simple and fun little project.
And, hey! 14 days until Thanksgiving. Love this time of year. Hope you are all enjoying your week! xo

Fall Favorites: Dish Cloth Beauties!

Hello little pretties! I adore these fall colors.

Did some crocheting over the weekend. Do you crochet? I love to make these dish cloths. They are quick and they are easy. And the color selection at the store....oooh-la-la! I am a very basic 101 crocheting gal. In fact, I have been making these dish cloths and scarves using the same pattern for years. That is the extent of my crocheting knowledge. And, I am happy with it.

And, it seems like we must make a blue cloth since the Michigan skies are so bright blue this time of year...no haze from humidity. Have to enjoy it all.

Beautiful colors. Crocheting is very calming to my soul. I take my crocheting with me just about everywhere. I watch my son play tennis, crocheting all the while. Really, you can do both.
One of my most favorite crocheting memories is when my children were little and my Mom was visiting us from California. It was Winter Olympic time. Every night after children were safely tucked in bed, we brought out our crocheting and watched the Winter Olympics. We basically crocheted our way through the Olympics. It was so fun!!!!
I will have more on crocheting a little bit later. Happy day!
