We've had a nice spurt of warm weather out here so we've been away from the computer for a while....
I think these floatie things are so cute..kind of a big contraption..but cute...
Along with this nice weather it's time to round up our summer reads. I've gotten into a "classics" fever lately so went to the library to get:
1. Brothers Karamazov -Dostoyevsky
2. Ethan Frome -Edith Wharton
3. The Hunchback of Notre-Dame -Victor Hugo
4. Selected stories of O.Henry
5. East of Eden - Steinbeck and
6. Maya Angelou. Anything by her.
What's on your reading list? Are you in a certain phase? Reading a certain author? Whose your favorite?
The pool looks so inviting. Loving, loving and loving the pool accessories! I would be in the pool all summer long with M floating right by me--ha!And, looks like she is going to be a writer, just like her mama!
ReplyDeleteYour summer reads are fantastic. Lot's of variety. At the moment, I am excited about two of my favorite authors newest books. Actually, the books have been out for awhile, but, as tradition would have it, I wait to do my reading by these two while vacationing up north. So, The Union quilters (chocked full of history, woven around the quilting of that time period)by Jennifer Chiaverini and Alexander McCall Smith's The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party..his Africa series.Ooh La-La!
The baby is so cute, love that hair! The floaty thing is really smart, great for baby! :D
ReplyDeleteOur daughter just read Les Miz for the first time, so I think I may dig out my copy and re-read my *favorite* book. I like your list a lot. I remember spending hours and hours in the summer swimming with our children...such a fun, relaxing thing to do. M is darling.
ReplyDeleteI looked up an interview Alexander McCall Smith gave a while back and he is so cute! I just loved him so I went out and rented an Isabel something-Housie book. Surprised at all the accomplishments he has under his belt, not least of all, the Horrible Band!
ReplyDeleteJenna...he was the best author visit I have ever been to---ever. He was just incredible, delightful, super talented and the Horrible Band...what a hoot! I have never read any of his other series, just The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series.
